GPT-6 Is Now Inside Every ChatGPT — and It Builds Mini-Apps Instead of Just Answering

ChatGPT with GPT-6 interface

The biggest AI upgrade of the year just landed for everyone at once: OpenAI has rolled GPT-6 out to every ChatGPT tier, pairing it with ‘Intelligent UI’ — answers that show up as interactive charts, calculators, diagrams, and games instead of plain text.

Paid plans — Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise — got GPT-6 Sol starting October 7, with Free and Go users receiving GPT-6 Luna the next day. OpenAI says the release serves the more than 1.2 billion people who use ChatGPT each week, and both models are tuned for everyday conversation rather than raw benchmark chasing.

Intelligent UI is the real story. OpenAI trained GPT-6 to decide how an answer should look: a recipe arrives with its timeline beside it, a concept becomes a clickable diagram, a bill-splitting question generates a working calculator. A component library renders the interface progressively, so you can tap around before the full response finishes.

There’s also ‘interleaved thinking’ — GPT-6 starts answering while it’s still reasoning or using tools, then adds findings as they come in. OpenAI’s internal tests claim 44% faster time-to-first-answer on web-search questions versus GPT-5.6. Note the careful wording: that’s when the answer starts appearing, not when it finishes.

One wrinkle: Pro’s reasoning mode still runs on GPT-6 Astra and doesn’t support Intelligent UI, and Codex and ChatGPT Work weren’t touched by this rollout. But for the main Chat tab — the one a billion people actually open — the chatbot era of ‘type question, get paragraph’ is officially over.
