AMD Just Joined the $1 Trillion Club

AMD crossed a $1 trillion market capitalization for the first time on Monday, touching an all-time high of $613.92 a share — becoming the fourth U.S. chipmaker to reach the milestone, after Nvidia, Broadcom, and Micron.

A trillion-dollar valuation used to be reserved for platform companies — Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet. Now four of the names on the list make the silicon everything else runs on. That’s the AI economy in one statistic: the most valuable layer of the stack is the one closest to the physics.

AMD’s climb reflects its position as the credible second source in AI accelerators. As datacenter builders race to diversify away from single-vendor dependence, AMD’s data-center revenue has become the number Wall Street watches most closely after Nvidia’s.

The milestone also caps a remarkable September for chips: Nvidia launching agent-safety infrastructure, Broadcom and Micron already past the trillion mark, and now AMD. The semiconductor supercycle isn’t cooling — it’s consolidating around AI.
